prior permission to take up post- retirement employment is required only within two years of the officer's retirement;

the qualifying service for death gratuity in respect of Category B staff is reduced from three to two years;

pension benefits for retirement in the public interest or on disciplinary grounds will be deferred to the officer's normal retirement age;

debts due to the Government may be deducted from an officer's pension benefits, up to 25% of the pension benefits payable, with or without the officer's consent; but the maximum of 25% will not apply to any outstanding tax due to the Government;

the provisions for dependant pension for death on duty are modified as follows ;-

(ii)

the minimum dependant pension for spouse or a parent is raised from $1,608 p.a. to $12,000 p.a.;

a minimum rate of $6,000 p.a. is introduced for dependant pension for children where no pension is paid to the spouse or a parent;

(iii) a pension may be payable to the

dependent father if for any

reasons no pension is paid to the spouse, children, or mother;

the dependant pension to a child can be resumed when the child resumes full-time education before the age of 23;

the rate of additional pension granted in respect of injuries sustained while on duty journey irrespective of mode of travel will be the same as that in respect of injuries sustained while on duty; and
