(b) any re-employed officer or the widow of child of

re-employed officer or their legal personal representative. respect of his purving prior in the date on which his terms of service ceased to include an entitlement to free oversent passages upon the completion of a tour or a period o scrvice.

(2) "Substantive holder" in relation to any office includes a person serving in that office on probation but does not include a person (other thar a person serving under a probationary agreement) serving in the office fo. a specified term under a contract.

Conditions of Service

2. The conditions of service applicable to an overseas officer who con tinues to be the substantive holder of a pensionable office in the Public Service of Zambia on or after the appointed day shall not be less favourabl than those which were applicable to him immediately before the appointed day.

Retirement and Pensions

3. The entitiement to retire and the eligibility to receive a pension of an officer who continues to be the substantive holder of a pensionable offic in the Public Service of Zambia on or after the appointed day or ‹ his widow, children, dependants or personal representatives shall t as provided for in the laws, regulations and administrative directions force immediately before the appointed day or in such other laws, regui. tions and administrative directions made thereafter as are not less favou able and pensions shall be granted and paid to such officers and oth persons accordingly.

Preservations of Pensions

4._(1) The pension of any officer who has.ceased to be the substanti holder of a pensionable office in the Public Service of Northern Rhode: before the appointed day, or of the widow, children, dependants or person representatives of any such oflicer, shall be granted and paid, or if grant before that date shall continue to be paid, in accordance with the las regulations and administrative directions governing those pensions imme ately before the appointed day or in accordance with such laws, regulatic and administrative directions made thereafter that are not less favourable.

(2) The pension of a re-employed officer or the pensions of the wide children, dependants or personal representatives of any such officer: sli be granted and paid, or if granted before the appointed day, shall contin to be paid. in accordance with the laws, regulations and administra:: directions in force immediately before that day or such other lay regulations and administrative directions made thereafter as are not i favourable.

Payment of Pensions

5. (1) Subject to the provisions of paragraph (2) of this Article a pens shall, at the option of the person to whom it is payable, be paid either Zambia or in the country in which he is residing or in any other country
