Mortimer indicated that he though that our strongest argument was the fact (if fact it be) that sterlinge: 071- safeguards of one kind or another are provided in all other former DTs. But he added that I should not assume that there was any shift in the Treasury position. (Nonetheless I was rather encouraged).
