1. As discussed, I attach copies of some correspondence on members of Her Majesty's Overseas Civil Service (HMOCs). are likely to face more questioning after 28 January when some 500 HMOCS members will attend the AGM of their Association. We may need to be in further touch.
2. As to what you might say, we agreed the following approach:
very complex and involved issue.
subject to official and Ministerial interdepartmental consideration even as we speak.
We do recognise the legitimate concerns of HMOCS officers
and we are working up appropriate arrangements.
but we are not ready to make any announcement now.
