At our meeting on 29 May 1992, I undertook to provide
information on the Hong Kong Government's intentions to remove
fill from the Castle Peak Firing Range for use in the reclamation
of the new airport.
The Hong Kong Government is planning to make available for
fill material for the new airport an area of the Castle Peak
Firing Range near Pillar Point (Mong Hau Shek).
The Hong Kong Government expect that allowing the use of
fill material from this site will result in very significant
savings in the reclamation costs for the new airport.
