The Tsing Ma Bridge Will carry both road and rail
traffic and will be one of the world's longest suspension
bridges, with a central span of 1,377m. It is the first and
biggest of five major contracts to be let for the Lantau
Fixed Crossing, which is a crucial section of the road and
rail links to the new airport at Chek Lap Kok.

Anglo-Japanese consortium, which submitted the second
lowest tender last December, is the best placed of the four
contestants to undertake the Tsing Ma contract," said Mг
