I was very pleased to hear this morning that the Hong Kong
Government have decided to award the Tsing Ma Bridge

I know that you personally have played a decisive part in
achieving this result which is of great importance to the
British companies involved. This must be a proud day for
you. I know that this was a hard fought battle and am
delighted that the Anglo-Japanese Consortium have won on
their merits. The airport project is of great significance for Hong Kong's future development, and I send you my very best wishes for the successful completion of the project.
