HONG KONG AIRPORT PROJECT:
TSING MA BRIDGE CONTRACT
As you know, the Hong Kong Government is scheduled to announce
the award of the Tsing Ma Bridge contract on 7 May. We have
heard that on both technical and financial grounds Anglo Japanese Consortium 's bid will be successful.
The Prime Minister has expressed the wish to write immediately the result is known to the successful companies. The three
principals are: Sir Gordon Manzie, Chairman of the Anglo
Japanese Construction Limited; Sir Nigel Broackes, Chairman
of Trafalgar House plc and Peter Sawdy Esq, Chairman of the
Costain Group. I enclose drafts to each of them for this
purpose.
