Thank you for your letter of 20 January in which you asked for background material on the new airport under construction in Hong Kong.
I enclose two pamphlets, one entitled PADS: Gateway to the Future, which gives a general overall view of the projects and a second, Hong Kong PADS Projects Information Pack which is issued by the Department of Trade and Industry, and covers in more detail the various projects which will together form the airport and port developments.
I trust you will also find the enclosed background brief on the earlier history of the airport informative.
