Terminal Description
The passenger terminal complex presented in the plan is located on the eastern portion of the land between the runways. The com- plex will be organized into two pairs of central- ized processing terminals, an attached concourse and a satellite concourse. Initial development will include Terminals ) and 2 with their attached passenger concourse. Ultimate development will see the addition of Terminals 3 Emd 4 and the satellite con- course. Fast and convenient connections between the cofcourses and the processing terminals will be provided by a people mover system heated in the central spine.
Aircraft parking positions will surround the concourses: either adjacent to the building. referred to as frontal gatest or set back from the building, referred to as remote gates.
Landside transport will access the terminal via a road and rail corridor aligned along the eastern shoreline of Chek Lap Kok Island.
The passenger] terminal will have three main levels:
Departures:
Arrivals, and
the People Mover/Baggage System. Level.
Additional floofs, including u mezzanine. will accommodate Departures rail pas senger check-in] offices, apron operations and mechanical and electrical equipment.
Due to Hong Kong's worldwide reputation as a centre for commerce and shopping, concessions will form an integral part of the passenger termipal. Concession space will be located throughout the terminal for pas- senger convenience and to optimize revenue generation, with specific locations to be decided dưỡing detailed design.
