launch's wheelhouse. As 729 crossed the bow of the
police launch its cannon moved in an arc of 100 degrees, trained on the launch.
While 728 executed this manoevre, 729 set off towards
Lung Kwu Chac. At a position of no more than half a mile due west of Black Point, 728 then altered course,
joined up with 729 and both exited Hong Kong waters at
about 1705 hours.
Both 729 and 728 entered well inside Hong Kong
waters. It is a matter of considerable concern to us
that 728 trained its gun on a Hong Kong police launch which did nothing provocative and was operating in its normal patrol area at all times. We would be grateful if the Chinese authorities can urgently investigate this incident. We hope NCNA can inform us of the results as soon as possible.
