I am writing to seek your assistance in securing a place in the 1993 RCDS course. During the last few years, with FCO's help and support, we have been fortunate enough to obtain a place every year since 1988. I trust some lobbying at the appropriate time will help to secure a place for Hong Kong next year.
We attach considerable importance to the RCDS course to which outstanding members of the Administrative Service and Police have been sent to prepare them for higher responsibilities. Interest in the RCDS course has become more intense and we are very keen to nominate another officer to the 1993 course. May I therefore request you to make the approach to register our interest and to try to obtain a place for Hong Kong next year?
