The absence of any serious retention problem to date is matched by a surprisingly buoyant recruiting situation for the HK Military Service Corps [as many as 5 candidates for each place in this year's intake} though the position is less good for the RN whose most recent intake is one-third under subscribed [only 12 out of 18 places have been taken up].

Application for FRI should be withheld for the time being for the following reasons:
