Discussion.
b.
The Chairman asked to
what level the studies would be staffed within MOD. DO (FEW) replied that they would be staffed to 2* level. The Chairman suggested that the studies might, where relevant, be included as Annexes to the 1993 Review, with the salient points and recommendations appearing within the main text.
Framework. The Chairman outlined the probable framework of the 1993 Review and directed that its outline structure and contents should be circulated to the HKSC membership.
34. JSIS.
DGMSI asked whether JSIS would be retained at full strength until the final withdrawal in order to compensate for the loss of the RHKP SB capability. CBF stated that work was now in hand in HK to identify the means of filling the capability gap that will occur with the demise of the RHKP SB. Decisions on the withdrawal and future strength of the JSIS would be based upon the outcome of this work.
