REQUEST FOR SCREENING CENTRE IN THE
TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS
Problem
1. The Prime Minister accepts that we should reject the American request to set up a screening centre for Haitian boat-people on the Turks and Caicos Islands
(TCI). But he does not want the issue to be raised at Camp David.

2. I recommend that HMA Washington should be asked for advice on the best way of conveying the response. submit a draft telegram. NAD agree.
