Of 140 EO candidates 24 attended the final interviews, and 4 have been recommended for appointment.

series of four receptions will be hosted by CS and SCS for over 200 non-directorate AOs during June-July 1992. The first one was held on 25 June.

The general feedback from officers has been very positive. Issues raised include communications with management, career development, training (particularly on Chinese language and China affairs), views on the future etc.

Officers' confidence level in the future is noticeably higher than two to three years ago.
