Under

CR 57, 58 and 59, the service of an officer may be

(a) when the officer has committed a serious misconduct and has been found guilty following disciplinary proceedings under CR 57, he may be dismissed or compulsorily retired under CR 57;

when the officer is convicted of a criminal charge, he may be dismissed or compulsorily retired under CR 58;

when the officer is acquitted of a criminal charge but there are evidence of misconduct as revealed during the court proceedings, he may be subject

to disciplinary proceedings, and be dismissed or compulsorily retired under CR 57;

when the officer is acquitted of a criminal charge but his Head of Department has nevertheless lost confidence in him, he may be retired in the public interest under CR 59;

when the officer's performance is found to be persistently unsatisfactory, he may be retired in the public interest under CR 59.
