The Staff Sides of the central councils are keeping a close watch on the outcome of the consultancy study on the "hypothecated pension fund" proposal. In response to SCS' deliberate negative hints on the proposed scheme, they have insisted that if the proposal is found not to be

pension safeguards options must be further examined.
The Staff Sides of the Senior Civil Service Council (SCSC) and the Disciplined Services Central Council (DSCC) continue to press for an extension of the deadline (30.6.92) for opting for the New Pension Scheme SO that, before exercising their options, staff can take into account the outcome of the pension safeguards issue and the outcome of the British Nationality Scheme.
