Under Regulation 7(2) of the Civil Service (Disciplinary) Regulations 1988, Heads of Departments are empowered to impose any punishment on Category B officers remunerated below MPS Point 14. As this category of officers are not confirmed to the permanent establishment, they are excluded from the purview of the Colonial Regulations. A copy of the Civil Service (Disciplinary) Regulations 1988 is attached at Appendix B.
