Nature of Power or Duty
To Issue marine hawker licences.
To forward appeals to the Board of Reference and notify the appellant of the time of hearing of the appeal.
To forward every case referred to him by the Super in ten dent to the Board of Reference and notify the seamen of the time of hearing of the case.
To notify an appellant under section 20 of the decision and findings of the Board of Reference.
To notify a seaman of the decisions and findings of the Board of Reference on a case referred under section 21.
To request the government of a country to which the Convention applies to issue in respect of a ship registered in Hong Kong any certificate.
To permit more persons to be carried on board a ship than are permitted under this Ordinance other than this section for the purpose of enabling persons to be moved from any place In consequence of a threat to their lives.
To issue and to request a Contracting Government to Issue a load line certificate for a ship registered in Hong Kong.
To issue a load line certificate for a ship not registered in Hong Kong.
To Issue an International Load Line Exemption
Certificate.
To Issue tallyclerks' licences, and to keep a register of particulars of all licences issued.
To cancel or suspend a tallyclerk's licence.
All powers and duties conferred upon him by
this Ordinance.
