Insignia of classes I and II orders should be delivered by way of presentation unless investiture, with bestowal of the accolade, has been authorised by Royal Warrant.

With one exception, the badges of Classes III, IV and V of orders as well as decorations and medals with a fitted

ribbon should be delivered by way of investiture. The exception is the badge of a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order which should be delivered by way of presentation

unless investiture has been authorised by Royal Warrant.

Medals issued without fitted ribbon should be delivered by

way of presentation.

Honorary appointments to classes I and II of orders should be completed by way of presentation unless investiture with accolade in the case of certain protected British persons

has been authorised by Royal Warrant.

The provisions of paragraphs 24.8 and 24.9 above apply to the delivery of insignia by Governors to

to the recipients of

the awards concerned on an honorary basis.

Subject to such modifications as may be thought desirable in view of local practice (eg in the matter of making speeches to recipients) the following order for such presentations

has been approved: -

a. The Governor's Private Secretary announces the name of

the recipient;

b. The recipient (with his two supporters, one on either

side) advances and takes his place at the

dais (if any) facing the Governor;

c. The Governor rises and says, "I request His Honour
