A local Chinese Governor?
It is intended that the next Governor shall be British.
Will there be consultation with ExCo/LegCo before a
decision on the next Governor?
The appointment is by HM The Queen on the advice of the
Prime Minister. Formal consultation would not be
appropriate. If, however, people in Hong Kong, including members of LegCo have views, doubtless they will express
them.
