I am sorry to raise this matter again but I feel I must appeal to you regarding Lorraine Osman, presently detained in Brixton high security Prison. He was formerly detained in Pentonville but for some reason he was moved to Brixton where he claims he is surrounded by terrorists and murderers. The Police also raided his house where his wife and young daughter are staying. They found nothing there.
I know that you are not in a position to do anything that the law does not authorise you to do but I do hope that he could at least be returned to Pentonville or some other prison where he will not feel so threatened.
As Prime Minister of Malaysia I have often received appeals from Heads of Government and Heads of State who are concerned about their citizens imprisoned in Malaysia. While I have not been able to do anything that the law does not permit, my Government has tried to accommodate as much as possible the appeals that were made. We have in particular looked after the welfare of these foreign prisoners although they were guilty.
I hope you can see your way to ameliorate the condition under which Lorraine Osman is imprisoned.
