British Airways

Preferred carrier in all classes between UK and all LONG HAUL destinations. Long Haul is defined by British Airways as to or from the USA, Canada, South America and the Caribbean, Africa, Middle East, Indian sub-continent, Far East and Australasia. Turkey, USSR, Cyprus and Israel are not included. British Airways is NOT a preferred carrier between UK and other European countries or within UK. For European and UK travel British Airways should only be used to destinations not served by a preferred carrier.

Lufthansa To all LONG HAUL destinations in First and

Business (Club) classes, except Bombay, Delhi, Johannesburg, Lagos, or where a service is operated jointly by Lufthansa and another carrier (with the exception of Windhoek which is included in the arrangement). Israel is also included in this arrangement. Lufthansa is not a preferred carrier within Europe, but may be used to German destinations not served by any preferred carrier.

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines To all destinations on the KLM

network (including Europe) in all classes. Travel between UK and Holland should be by KLM, British Midland or Dan Air only.

To points in USA and Canada KLM offer Companion/Spouse fares in First and Business (Club) classes. These fares offer considerable discount where two people travel out and home together (available for two officers travelling together on duty etc).

Swissair To all destinations on the Swissair network

(including Europe) in all classes. Travel between UK and Switzerland should be by Swissair or Dan Air only.

Special facilities exist for FCO personnel for additional baggage allowance on Swissair services booked through Travel Centre.

Virgin Atlantic

In Upper Class (Business Class) only betwen UK and Boston, Los Angeles, Miami,

New York, Moscow and Tokyo.

British Midland

Should be used on all UK routes served by British Midland from Heathrow. Also a preferred carrier to Europe (Amsterdam, Dublin and Paris). Routes include London City Airport to Brussels.
