AUS TRAVEL BUDGET

I attach a copy of a self-explanatory minute from the Head of PSD.

1.

1991/92 MID-YEAR REVIEW

2. The current balance of some £87,000 in my Travel Budget is earmarked for travel already incurred and approved essential journeys still to be undertaken. It may be that some of the latter may no longer be necessary and that other journeys could be suggested in their place. Could I therefore request that fully-costed updated lists of journeys considered essential for the remainder of this financial year (including highly desirable familiarisation trips) be sent to me by 11 October, so that I can put in a bid for extra funds. If you will indicate the new items, I will put in a bid for them: we did quite well with this tactic last year.

1992/93 : : ESTIMATES

3. Similarly, would you please let me have the requested pro formas for necessary and desirable travel for the 1992/93 financial year by this Friday, 4 October. A rough estimate will suffice, bearing in mind that travel costs are likely to increase by 10% next year. Detailed costings can be prepared at a later date.
