Purchase Intention Index

The SRH Purchase Intention Index reflects consumer attitudes towards making major purchases. It has reduced by nine index points from 95 in July to 86 now, a figure which is almost on par with the January 91 survey (87).

It appears that the airport agreement has uplifted the consumer confidence but there is insufficient support to maintain the euphoria. On the other hand, consumers have a more cautious economic outlook. Moreover, news on the Western economies are also very negative. All these would have affected consumers' purchase intention.
