COMMISSION and

APPOINTMENT

YOU, WILLIAM BANKS

an Officer of The Salvation Army (hereinafter referred to as "the Officer Commanding") are HEREBY COMMISSIONED AND APPOINTED to command the forces of The Salvation Army in the

HONG KONG AND TAIWAN COMMAND

(hereinafter referred to as "the Command") with the title of Officer Commanding

AND YOU ARE HEREBY EMPOWERED to conduct the operations of The Salvation Army in the Command to manage its affairs and administer its property there and generally to exercise the powers and discharge the duties pertaining to the office of the Officer Commanding

PROVIDED ALWAYS that this Commission is granted subject to the express condition that in the exercise of the authority and the powers hereby conferred the Officer Commanding shall be subject always to the oversight direction and control of the General of The Salvation Army (hereinafter referred to as "the General") both myself and my successors in that office

AND I HEREBY DECLARE that in the event of your absence from the Command or your death or if you are unable or unwilling for any reason to exercise the powers of discharge the duties of your Commission those powers and duties shall devolve upon the officer holding the appointment of General Secretary in the Command who shall exercise and discharge them until the General shall direct otherwise

AND I HEREBY RESERVE to the General the right at any time and from time to time by instrument in writing to vary the terms of this
