1. On the understanding that your British Undertakings Committee will by then have completed its work, you may go ahead with your leave plans for February.
2. It is looking increasingly likely that the Regional Heads of Mission Conference will take place in late July, possibly in the week commencing 29 July. Your proposed return to post earlier that month would therefore fit well.
3. There is however, one possible difficulty. Dates for the EC/ASEAN ministerial meeting have yet to be decided, And this could result in the HOMC being brought forward. We take it that
home (à ora amine and if this should happen. Smith-Laittan would attend HOMC in your place.
On this basis, we confirm there is no objection here to you taking home leave as proposed.
