7. The publicity arrangements after February remain fluid. The general intention will be to let the community know such decisions of the Steering Committee which may be of public interest. The public will also be advised of the number of registrations by class and occupational group recommended by the Governor for approval by the Home Secretary. A more detailed plan on publicity after the closing date will be submitted for members' consideration nearer the time.

WORK OF THE STEERING COMMITTEE

Given the intense media interest in the work of the Steering Committee, it will be necessary to confirm, upon request, details of dates, times and venues of committee meetings. Media representatives will inevitably gather outside the meeting venue to get a few quotes from members after each meeting. The following arrangements are proposed:
(a) While detailed discussions during the meeting, including
the agenda, should remain confidential, there is no objection to disclosing the general issues discussed. A press release will be prepared before each meeting and will be released after clearance with members.
