advise whether personality checks and verification interviews should be triggered for the 476 applicants with the highest provisional scores at or above the quota line; and
(f) advise that in the event of any of these 476 applicants fail the personality checks and verification interviews, whether Immigration Department should proceed with such checks and interviews for applicants with ranking
ranking positions falling immediately below the quota line to make sure that all the places will be filled.
BACKGROUND & GENERAL PROFILES OF APPLICANTS

The estimated group size of OG 11 "Medical Doctors" is 5,450. There are 1,776 applicants competing for the quota of 469 places. The overall success rate is 26%. An anonymised list of these applicants with their provisional points scored under various attributes will be tabled at the coming meeting for members' consideration.

In calculating applicants' scores, provisional points have been given in cases where there are doubts on various attributes claimed (e.g. regarding experience, qualifications and awards) while assessment on such claims is being made. This is to avoid holding up the queuing process.
Before the award of any Special Circumstances points, the provisional scores of all applicants range from -51 to 590. The quota mark is 512. There are 8 applicants with such
scores.
