"We will be excluding
the Occupational Group,
those who are not qualified to apply in
for example, those without any working
experience relevant to the group," he added.
On the total number of applications under the Sensitive
Service Class and the Entrepreneurs Class, the spokesman
said most had been made in response to the Governor's
invitations.
"Invitations issued So far only represent a part of the
total quotas available," he said.
The
spokesman added that the
first batch of potentially
successful applicants have been considered by the Steering
Committee and will be put to the Governor who, if
satisfied, will recommend them to the Secretary of State
for registration as British citizens.
"We
expect to be able to issue certificates of registration
to the first batch of successful applicants from all four
Classes under the scheme around the middle of July," he
said.
