BRITISH NATIONALITY PACKAGE FOR HONG KONG

It has just been drawn to my attention that although certain firms of solitors in Hong Kong have been brought within the scheme no provision has been made for barristers. I believe this must have been due to oversight rather than design.

During the immediate years following 1997 the Hong Kong Bar will play an invaluable service in preserving the rights of the Citizens of Hong Kong as well ensuring the integrity of commercial arrangements. It is vital that they be supported.

A natural division would be to include barristers who are members of one of the Inns of Court of England.

I do hope some provision will be made.

ANTHONY SCRIVENER QC Chairman

Your uncerely,
