Some

respondents also considered the proposed increase of taxi fare unreasonable since the last increase was made less than six months ago. They thought that the last increase had already taken into account increased operating costs for the foreseeable future while the been compensated for by the

increase in oil prices had already fuel surcharge. They also thought

that there was no need for the Government to guarantee the profit level of taxi operators.
