Strategic objectives of the Business Immigration Programme.›

The Programme is designed to introduce in Poland elements of the East Asian model of socio-economic development through the import of capital investment and managerial skills from the Pacific Rim countries, mainly from Hong Kong.

Its ultimate strategic purpose is to create conditions which will facilitate harmonious growth of the Folian society and to develop patterns of an economic and cultural character to be valid globally.

The objectives are devided into two groups:

business oriented;

research and education oriented.

1. The business or tented objectives will interest: investors (both corporations and individuals), entrepreneurs and professionals.

1.1. Under the Polish Business immigration Programme, investors presently active in East Asia will have the opportunity to invest in Poland and benefit from all facilities that are not available to foreign investors entering the Polish market as partners in joint ventures. For example, Taiwanese, US. or Japanese companies from Hong Kong may transfer their activities into Poland along with specialized Chinese workforce. They will not be restricted by egulations designed for foreign businesses.

1.2. Entrepreneurs will have the opportunity of unrestricted activity in all sectors of the economy, 1.2. resident development. imports. tourist industry.

1.3. Professionals activities will not be limited by interests of local professional groups. For examp:e. teachers will be welcome as English and other subjects' instructors in the recently organized English Colleges. These colleges have been created in cooperation with the British Council and other foreign cultural institutions. Furthermore this initiative may be supported by the British Know-How

Fund.

2. In order to comply with the ultimate strategic objectives, the Business Immigration Programme will se sveported by research anc education oriented activities.

2.1.The establishing of a Foundation for Pacific Asia in Warsaw University to create the basis for studies on the East Asian experience.

Material base: The Japanese Tax-Deduction Law and the competence of the Council for Better Corporate Citizenship.

Human resourcest SCHOLA from Warsaw University and the Polish Academy of Science.

Consultations are under way with the Rector of Warsaw University, the Director of the Oriental Institute and the Japanese authorities.

2.2. In order to support further the research activities and to set the basis for Oriental studies both for Poles and Chinese, the foundation of an English language university is planned.

This task has been presented to the Jesuits, a religious order with a long tradition of contacts with the Far East as well as an internationally recognized experience in the organization of higher education.
