Revelation in late January 1991 of the 19 January 1989 meeting with H P Clausen makes this position untenable (although even if that meeting had never taken place, there had been much in the press about the issue before March 1989).

Charges against Permanent Secretary at the Justice Ministry, and his suspension, for failing to blow the whistle on his Minister.

Comment

Prosecutor was asked to consider raising charges quickly (in advance of the judical enquiries' findings) in order to avoid their becoming time-expired under the statute of limitations. On his own admission, the Prosecutor's decision based on incomplete evidence. Why is action which presupposes the guilt of the former Minister taken against an official while the former Minister remains unscathed, a Member of the Folketing?
