4. I was interested in what you say about those entering
the UK under the Scheme leaving after a limited period.
That is not my understanding: the Department of Employment
believe that many beneficiaries do in fact remain in the UK.
Do you have any firm evidence to demonstrate that this is
not so?
5. Finally I agree that we will need to see how the
Department of Employment could provide alternative means to
meet St Helena's needs. I am pursuing this with them and will include a suitable passage in the draft submission, which will of course be cleared with you.
