Some time ago, Kenneth Warren, who chairs this Committee, mentioned to me that he was considering taking his Members to Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta area to review developments. The visit to Hong Kong had been suggested to him earlier by Lydia Dunn and the Chinese segment by the Chinese Government.. For obvious reasons the two segments fit together well.
The purpose of my writing is to ask whether you can see any difficulties from the Hong Kong Government point of view. I can't, though I suggest the timing of any visit should avoid the September elections.

Perhaps you would let me have your views so that I may get back to Kenneth Warren who has recently raised the matter with Incidentally, I imagine that Select Committees have their own funds and that this
not new approach by Kenneth is forerunner to a request for sponsorship. But I may be very wrong!
