JAMES BOYLE: DENIED ENTRY AT HONG KONG

at paragraph 3

BF

20/2

1. On Tuesday 12 February I received a call from the a/n at

Hong Kong airport. Mr Boyle complained that he had been

arrested and denied entry to Hong Kong, and was at that time

under Police guard in a pay-phone at Hong Kong airport. He

was particularly incensed that his wife and children had also

been detained. He asked what could be done to assist him. I.

took the details of the case and then asked him to leave it

with me.

and was evenutally put through to a Miss Patten, a personal

assistant, who told me everyone else had left the office, but

she would see what she could do. Thanks to her good offices I

was later rung by Mr Lawrence Leung, Director of Immigration

in Hong Kong, I told Mr Leung the history of Jimmy Boyle

(please see next paragraph) and that I would check with

Scotland Yard to see if there were any outstanding or current

charges against Mr Boyle. Mr Leung said that he would

nevertheless grant Mr Boyle temporary admission because, તે ઉં

his passport showed, he had recently been in America and

several other countries and had obeyed his conditions of

entry. I thanked Mr Lefung for this and later sent a
