MINISTERIAL VISITS SCHEDULE: JANUARY 1992
**
1. Please find attached the schedule of Ministerial visits to/from countries in your geographical area. It is corrected to 31 December on information received in Protocol Department.
I should be grateful if you would arrange for desk officers to bring the schedule up to date and return it by 18 December for inclusion in the January 1992 schedule. I regret that, due to printing deadlines, any returns received after this date will not be included in the following schedule. Visits due to be completed before 1 January 1992 need not be included. Please ensure that amendments are legible (ie typed or in block capitals) and that all additional entries are set out in alphabetical order of country.
2. All inward and outward visits by Heads of Government and Ministers, outward visits by the Lord Mayor of London, the Speaker of the House of Commons and inward visits by members of foreign Royal Families should be included. (Royal visits overseas to be dealt with by Protocol Department). Confirmed visits should be listed irrespective of timescales but possible visits should only be listed up to six months ahead. The status of the visit should be recorded under one of the following three categories only:
(i) Confirmed
(ii) Possible
(iii) Tentative
arrangements/dates of visit agreed by both the host and visitor
visit likely to go ahead but final arrangements/dates not yet confirmed
visit suggested but not agreed by host or visitor
3. The timings of visits should be as accurate as possible although an indication of the month will suffice if the visit is not yet firm.
