SECRETARY OF STATE'S HONG KONG ITINERARY
1. I have received an approach from the Hong Kong branch of Conservatives Abroad about the Secretary of State's planned visit. They have asked whether a slot for them could be inserted into the Secretary of State's itinerary. Their preference would be for a cocktail party (which would require about 30-45 minutes of the Secretary of State's time). This could perhaps be either in the early evening or perhaps at, say, 10 pm. I understand that Sir Geoffrey Howe made time for the branch during one of his visits to Hong Kong.
2.
I well understand how packed the Secretary of State's programme already is, but is there any possibility of building such an event in? If time allowed I am sure the Secretary of State would like to take this on.
