(d) The Secretary of State has also asked to stretch his

legs on 9 April. Would a walk around Government House

garden suffice or should something more elaborate be arranged? (The Governor has pointed out that the timing would be rather tight.).

Hong Kong have also asked to know Mrs Hurd's wishes for

the Hong Kong leg of the visit. I attach a copy of

Mrs Hurd's programme for the January 1990 visit. I suggest Mrs Hurd may like to consider the following ideas: visit the

Hong Kong Exhibition Centre; visit the new University of

Science and Techonology; a visit to a major shopping centre (eg Tsimshatsui); cross the harbour on the Star Ferry; visit a school or kindergarden; visit Ocean Park (Asia's largest Oceanarium and Fun Park); visit the Jubilee Sports Centre; horse riding (eg at Fanling).
