1. Lord Caithness has been through the briefs. He has a number of comments which you may like to take into account before submitting to the Private Secretary:
Brief 2: Last tiret on first page: There is presumably a typo, "prevent" for "present".
Brief 5: The Minister's view is that we should make the amendements to the Bill of Rights.
Brief 6: The Minister thinks that the brief needs strengthening, as in his manuscript amendment to the objective.
Brief 7: The brief on Vietnamese migrants will need updating to reflect the results of this week's meeting in Geneva.
Brief 9:
As you know, the Minister is not convinced that three patrol craft are necessary. The Secretary of State should be briefed to explore this angle.
