For medium and long term cover Treasury authority is required for individual transactions in exces: of £100m and for
aggregate new commitments in any one year of over £200m. This point has now been reached and Ministers will almost certainly become involved in decisions on further
further business this year. The French export credit agency have recently said that they are open for cover on a case-by-case basis for medium and long term business. Their capacity to accommc date further business is not known.
Points to Make (DEFENSIVE)
ECGD short term cover is available without restriction. Cover for medium/long term credit business is available on a first come first served basis subject to ECGD's normal exposure.
