COMMUNICATING WITH LORD CAITHNESS
1.
Lord Caithness has now left for his trip to New Zealand and Australia. I attach a copy of his programme. He has asked to be kept informed of important developments in his area. This will clearly be particularly important for his meetings with senior New Zealand and Australian Ministers. avoid duplication I should be grateful if departments could touch base with me before repeating telegrams to the Minister.
2. Lord Caithness will wish to see Departmental round-ups on his return. These should consist of short résumés of key developments in his field with relevant supporting papers attached. I should be grateful to have these by 1600 hours on Friday 8 March.
3. I shall be in touch separately about sending
Lord Caithness preparatory papers for the meeting with the Governor of Hong Kong on 11 March.
