LORD CAITHNESS' TRIP TO SOUTH EAST ASIA
1. During his recent trip to Australia Lord Caithness was much impressed by the format of the briefing prepared by the post.
This consisted of self-contained sheet or sheets of paper containing all the information required for each item of the programme (timing, cars, accompanying party, press arrangements etc). Rather than he (or his Private Secretary) having to carry around the entire brief he could then simply detach the sheets relevant to the particular item of the programme on which we was engaged, I attach an example. If possible he would like posts on his forthcoming trip to South East Asia to prepare briefs on the same basis.
