LORD CAITHNESS' VISIT TO HONG KONG 22-25 JULY
Please refer to your minute of 19 June below about British Council/CRD briefing for the above visit.

As part of his official programme, the Minister will call on the British Council in Hong Kong. It would be useful to have briefing. It should take the form of a general brief on the work of the Council in Hong Kong but in addition there are two other points:-
(i) BC co-location with the future British Consulate General.
(ii) Status of the BC in Hong Kong

Both items were raised by the BC Director in Hong Kong during the Head of Hong Kong Department's visit there earlier this month. A contribution from the British Council on these points would be appreciated.
Grateful if you would let me have the British council contribution in draft with a disk, by COP on 8 July.
