Bush to bring about the renewal of the Most-Favoured Nation status in a letter from the Japanese Prime Minister to the

President.

We welcome President Bush's decisions on the unconditional renewal of MFN status to China but are concerned that Congress may yet reverse the decision.

I also told Mr Qian frankly again that I wanted China to take more specific measures on political reform and proliferation of weapons.

I am looking forward to seeing you in the G7 summit meeting

soon.
