The Chinese side have asked if they could see copies of agreements when concluded to assist their study of our proposals for future comprehensive mutual legal assistance agreements between Hong Kong and other jurisdictions. We are therefore, as a courtesy, passing them copies of agreements after signature.

The Designation Order
Order will apply the Ordinance, with certain modifications, to orders made by courts in designated jurisdictions confiscating the proceeds of drug trafficking and their value, and to proceedings in those jurisdictions which may result in such an order. In particular it will enable the High Court to

order the restraint in Hong Kong of property which may be required to enforce a confiscation order made in a designated country or territory; and
register and enforce a confiscation order made by a court in a designated country or territory,
enabling HKG to implement agreements and arrangements it has negotiated with the designated jurisdictions for reciprocal assistance in the restraint and confiscation of the proceeds of drug trafficking.

The second column of Schedule 1 lists the appropriate authority for each designated jurisdiction, which is the authority from which requests for assistance are to be received, and to which requests for assistance in connection with Hong Kong confiscation orders and proceedings are to be sent.
Paragraph 3(2) applies the Ordinance, subject to the modifications specified in Schedule 2 to orders and proceedings in designated jurisdictions;
paragraph 4 makes provision for proof of orders and judgments of a court in a designated
jurisdiction;
