It is recommended that

should
the two existing types of multiple visit permits issued to Taiwan visitors for social and business visits should be merged into one, with a one-year validity period as in the case of the existing permits;
jumbo multiple visit permits valid for two years should be introduced; and
under section 59 of the Immigration Ordinance, the Immigration (Amendment) Regulations 1991, at Annex should be made to provide for the issue of the jumbo permits.

Members will be asked to advise if this recommendation be approved. Members are also invited to note progress implementation of the existing multiple visit permit scheme covering social and business visitors set out paragraphs 4 to 9.
