BILL OF RIGHTS RELATED CASES
1. It has recently been brought to our attention that there have been two cases in District Courts where judgements involved the Bill of Rights. In one case the judge refused to issue orders prohibiting tax and debt defaulters from leaving Hong Kong, and in the other the judge "struck down" an existing law. We ourselves are not clear what these refer to. I should therefore be grateful for confirmation that these cases have occured and for any background on them you could provide.
